Shopping List for Nextcloud · Last updated 18 June 2026
Shopping List for Nextcloud (“the app”) is the official, open-source client for the Shopping List server app, and connects to a Nextcloud server that you choose and control. This policy explains how the app handles your information.
Information the developer collects
None. The developer of this app does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There are no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no third-party data-collection SDKs in the app.
Information stored on your device
To function, the app stores the following locally on your device only:
- The address (URL) of the Nextcloud server you connect to, and the credentials (such as an app password or login token) used to authenticate. Credentials are stored in Android's encrypted storage (EncryptedSharedPreferences).
- A local cache of your shopping lists and items, so the app works offline.
This information never leaves your device except to communicate with the Nextcloud server you configured (see below). Removing the app, logging out, or clearing the app's data deletes this information from your device.
Information you send to your own server
When you add, edit, or sync lists, that data is sent to the Nextcloud server you configured, over your network connection. That server is operated by you or your chosen provider and is not controlled by the app's developer. How your data is handled on that server is governed by that server's own privacy policy and the terms of whoever operates it.
Permissions
- Internet and network state — used solely to sync with the Nextcloud server you configure. The app makes no other network connections.
Children
The app is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children.
